OCH Regional Medical Center Athletic Trainer Paul Mock, LAT, ATC has been voted into the Mississippi Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame. Mock has been in the athletic training profession for 40 years as an assistant and head Athletic Trainer at Mississippi State University, and at OCH Rehab Services for the past 10 years.
In a statement, the Mississippi Athletic Trainers Association applauded Mock for his leadership in the profession, “During his tenure, [Paul] has been recognized for inspiring many in the Starkville area to join the profession of Athletic Training. Paul was nominated for this award for his great passion and tireless efforts to care for his student athletes and his community for many years.”
In addition to being a member of the Mississippi Athletic Trainers Association, Mock has also served on the SEC Officials’ Advisory Committee.
“There is no one more deserving of this honor,” said Head Athletic Trainer at OCH Rehab Services David Ruffin. “Paul is the epitome of professionalism and what all Athletic Trainers should strive to be. He has cared for thousands of athletes and built many relationships along the way. OCH is fortunate to have him on our staff,” continued Ruffin.
As an Athletic Trainer with OCH Rehab Services, Mock provides sideline care at games and practices for Louisville High School. He, and all OCH Rehab Services Athletic Trainers, provide injury prevention measures, injury evaluation, and immediate, on-site treatment and work closely with a team of orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists to diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate injured players.
