OCH Regional Medical Center offers Safe Sitter, a nationally-recognized program that prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting.
Safe Sitter® Course Content:
- Safety Skills: Indoor safety, outdoor safety, online safety, and personal safety.
- Child Care Skills: Child development, child care routines (including diapering practice), and behavior management.
- First Aid & Rescue Skills: Injury prevention, injury management, and choking rescue.
- Life & Business Skills: Screening jobs, setting fees, and greeting employers.
All scheduled classes for this summer are full. If your student is interested in participating in a class this summer, please e-mail email@example.com with dates that work best with your schedule. If there is enough interest, we will host another Safe Sitter course before the new school year.

$35 fee for the one-day class includes student manual, backpack, lunch and graduation ceremony.
