What is the benefit of a support group?

Studies show that people involved in a support group experience greater success than those who go it alone. Not only will you be encouraged by the success of others, but you’ll have the opportunity to learn about issues that affect people with diabetes.

Who conducts the meetings and what topics are discussed?

Speakers range from physicians to pharmacists to registered dietitians to certified diabetes educators and more. Past topics have included: Stress Management and Laughter Therapy; Foot Care; Prevention of Diabetes-Related Complications; Know your ABCs; Organ Donation and many more.

How do I join the OCH Regional Medical Center Diabetes Support Group?

Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the OCH Regional Medical Center Educational Facility and are free to all who attend. Refreshments are provided.
